Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and preparation is key. The LDM Premarital Counseling Program equips couples with the tools they need to build a strong foundation. Through seven pre-wedding sessions and one post-wedding session, each lasting 1 hour, couples can explore potential areas of conflict, learn effective communication and conflict resolution strategies, and align their expectations for marriage using Godly principles. This program ensures you enter marriage with clarity and confidence.
Concern: Fear of judgment, gossip, or confidentiality breaches.
Answer:
Yes. Everyone signs a confidentiality agreement, and we begin every session by reminding members that what’s shared in the group stays in the group. The environment is structured, respectful, and safe. Most clients find they quickly feel a sense of trust and connection.
Concern: Fear of being lost in the crowd or overwhelmed.
Answer:
Group sizes are kept intentionally small—usually between 10 to 20 participants—to allow for meaningful interaction. Everyone gets a chance to share and receive support in each session.
Concern: Fear of public speaking or pressure to share.
Answer:
That’s okay. You’re encouraged, but never forced, to speak. Many people start by listening and gradually feel comfortable enough to join in. The group is about meeting you where you are.
Concern: Doubting the effectiveness of group work for personal problems.
Answer:
Yes. Many clients report breakthroughs from hearing others’ stories and feedback. It gives you fresh perspectives, reduces isolation, and often speeds up your own healing process. I’ll also give tools and assignments tailored to everyone’s journey.
Concern: Wondering if others will be relatable.
Answer:
Groups are intentionally curated. For example, if it’s infidelity recovery, you’ll be with others facing similar situations—betrayed partners, couples trying to rebuild, or those who’ve been unfaithful but want to change. Everyone will be on a similar journey.
Concern: Worry about negativity or emotional overwhelm.
Answer:
Not at all. While emotions are welcome, the sessions are structured. Each week has a focus—like managing triggers, rebuilding trust, or rediscovering self-worth. There’s always a balance of sharing, learning, and doing.
Concern: Wanting clarity on time and commitment.
Answer:
Most groups run for 3 to 8 weeks, with weekly 90-minute sessions. This gives enough time to build trust and see progress, but it doesn’t feel never-ending. We also offer extension programs for those who want more support after.
Concern: Fear of imbalance or not being heard.
Answer:
As the facilitator, I ensure equal participation. The group rules include respectful time sharing, and I gently guide the flow so no one dominates and no one is left behind.
Concern: Financial limitation.
Answer:
Group sessions are significantly more affordable—typically 1/3 or 1/4 the cost of individual sessions. It’s an economical way to receive professional help and peer support.
Concern: Wanting deeper personal attention.
Answer:
Yes. Some clients do a hybrid approach—group work for ongoing support and affordability, plus occasional private sessions for deeper personal issues. It’s flexible based on your needs.
